Women’s Weaving Cooperative
The Women’s Weaving Cooperative in Guatemala is the only cooperative in the region dedicated to the rescue of the spinning of natural cotton. Vegetable and plant dyes such as beets, carrots, flower petals, and tree bark are used to create rich and vibrant colors on soft, thick, high vibrational textiles.
Giving the marginalized weaving women of Guatemala a steady source of income through hand-woven textiles, Weaving Women Cooperative has provided Guatemalan women, especially mothers, an opportunity to sell their wearable art worldwide. From the earnings, a Guatemalan mother can now send her children to school and provide for their daily needs, ensuring a “Better Tomorrow” for their family.
